Mothecombe is a beautiful spot on the west bank of the River Erme estuary in West Devon. There are two beaches, Coastguards Beach by the estuary and Mothecombe Beach (also known as Meadowsfoot Beach) which faces out to sea. There is a large car park about a 5 minute walk from the beach and there are toilets and a tea house. Mothecombe is about 10 miles from Plymouth on the A379. A few miles east of Yealmpton on the A379 there is a right turning signposted to Mothecombe. After 2-3 miles on this road turn left at Battisborough Cross.
