Information image
Porth Saxon is a small shingle beach on the north bank of the Helford river in South Cornwall near Durgan. There are no facilities at the beach and the nearest parking is a 10-15 minute walk on the coast path. Durgan is about 7 miles from Falmouth and there are several routes to Durgan. The quickest route is probably via Mabe Burnthouse following signs to Mawnan Smith. At Mawnan Smith follow signs to Helford Passage, then after several miles there is a left signposted turning to Durgan. From the Durgan car park follow the footpath down through woodland and when the path meets the road, turn left for the coast path to Porth Saxon. Note Porth Saxon is also known as Porth Sawsen.
