Brat Tor is a high rocky tor on the north western edge of Dartmoor. There is a steep path to the summit with fine views. At the summit is a large cross called Widgery Cross. Brat Tor is on open moorland and the nearest car park is a short distance from a turning on the A386 road by The Dartmoor Inn, which is about 8 miles from Tavistock on the A386. At the car park, walk east and cross the river Lyd, either by stepping stones or over a foot bridge and then follow the path up to Brat Tor.
