Haldon Belvedere (also called Lawrence Castle) is a tower on the north edge of Haldon Forest near Exeter. There are nice grounds around the tower which are open to the public all year (though the upper lawns may be closed if there is a private function underway). The tower is open to the public at certain times. Haldon Forest is about 8 miles from Exeter on the A38. On the A38 turn off where signposted to Exeter Racecourse and follow signs to Haldon Belvedere and Forest Park. Continue on this road until a layby car park below Haldon Belvedere.
